The Fall Edit: radiant skin.

I strongly believe that radiant skin comes from the inside - with a healthy and balanced diet, significant water intake and a good night sleep - and I do provide my skin with all of these. But I still don't mind reaching out for some radiance boost on the outside as well, especially during the fall and the winter when the skin is more prone to dullness and fatigueness. So in the second post from my "The Fall Edit" series (see the first one here) I am sharing with you, hands down, favorite products included in my fall make up routine. If your skin is dry and sensitive I am sure it will benefit from these too; however, other skin types might need some different solutions.
Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base (available here). This radinace-boosting base was on my wishlist for quite some time and I can definitely say I made the right choice! Actually, all the Clarins products I started using in the meantime quickly got on the top of my list and made this french brand among those my skin responds to very well.
When it comes to this skin perfector, Clarins made sure to offer three shades with each one intended to correct a specific complexion concern. And if you want to eliminate dullness then you will need the 01 Rose just like I did. This salmon pink colored base contains a new "Lumi-Tech" complex which brightens the complexion and eliminates any shadows, as well as the Katafray extract which leaves the skin feeling nicely moisturized. Rest assured this base does not contain any shimmer, just a hint of color. It has a texture of a lightweight lotion and it spreads and absorbs very easily. I love wearing it on its own as it makes my complexion look so fresh and healthy looking; but what I love even more is wearing it under my foundation, as it perfectly preps my skin for a long lasting coverage.
Sephora Smoothing & Brightening Concealer (get it here). I wanted to get my hands on the famous YSL Touche Éclat illuminating pen, but on my last visit to Sephora I think I just found a perfect budget-friendly dupe. It has the same tapered brush applicator that allows a precise application, same light-effecting pigments and almost the same formula that blends smoothly with fingers, a sponge or a brush. I do not suffer from neither major imperfections nor dark circles under my eyes, I just needed a product that would make me look more awake. I am definitely thankful to this Sephora pen for making me so.

Zoom in.
Zooming in the accessories and jewellery from some of my recent outfits and, yes, being perfectly aware that I have been wearing certain pieces over and over again - like the gold bangle from H&M and the pointy necklace from Accessorize. Well, a girl's allowed to have her obsessions favorites, right?

MAKE UP

Season transitions aren't just about wardrobe cleanings and makeovers, but about reassessing the beauty and make up regimes too. So welcome to the first of "The Fall Edit" series on my blog, where I will be sharing parts of my make up, skincare and body care routine for the fall season. Hopefully it will provide a good overlook and reviews on products I'm using and inspire you to include the similar ones in your own routine. Since the make up is where I made the most and extensive changes I thought of starting with it first, sharing with you today the products I use for an everyday natural eye make up look.
NYX HD Eye Shadow Base (get it here). Whether I need to make my eyeshadow color more enhanced, color-free and long lasting; or I just need to even out and smooth the skin on my eyelids, I always reach out for eyeshadow primers. I have been constantly using this NYX one for over a year now, and what had initially drawn me to it was the fact that it had a great reviews and was even considered a dupe for the well known Urban Decay Primer Potion. It comes in a nude shade that has to be let to set for about a minute or two before applying an eyeshadow, and makes it look flawless all day long.
NYX Infinite Shadow Stick (available here). This creamy, pigmented and long lasting eye pencil can also be used as a base for eyeshadow, although I mostly use it as a quick, easy-to-apply, smudgeproof eye pencil. NYX offers a selection of neutral tones ranging from matte to metallic and I have mine in "Silk" which is a golden nude with metallic finish. With opaque coverage and easy to blend formula, it goes perfectly with all the neutral colors I am usually wearing on my eyes.
Benefit Gimme Brow (find it here). I used to think applying my mascara is what I would never leave my house without, but boy I was wrong. I realize now if I only have shaped and defined eyebrows I can get away with wearing no other make up, as just a couple of strokes with a pencil, gel or shadow on my brows can make my entire face look more awaken, primed and defined. And of the best products to help me get my brows look thicker, fuller and tidier is this Benefit's fiber gel formula. It has an innovative, tapered brush that is perfect for blending and shaping; and gives a long wearing, water resistant and, most importantly, naturally looking result.
Revlon ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow (available here). When it comes to finding the neutral eye shadow palettes I always think Urban Decay Naked Basic Palette is just to good to be cheated on. And apparently everyone else thinks so too, because that palette was out of stock everywhere for quite some time. While I was on a look out for the next best thing, I came across the Revlon counter and immediately reach for "Addictive". Their eyeshadow quad actually resembles the neutral browns and taupes of UD (with the black matte and off white color obviously missing), and their quality and pigmentation is quite impressive too. All the colors - pale cream, light taupe, semi-frosty golden taupe and matte warm brown - are very rich and velvety, and blend smoothly for a beautiful natural look. Plus the packaging itself is small and slim enough and perfect for carrying around in your everyday make up bag or even your travel make up bag! I took it with me on one of my recent trips (here) and it has proven to be the right on-the-go color selection choice.
Aura Divine Eyes Single Eyeshadows. Having a couple of single eyeshadows is always a good idea, so I opted for gold-beige 61 Sun Kiss and off white 65 Cute Nude. These slightly shimmering shades do the highlighting and perfectly complement my Revlon quad.
Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner (here). The mini version of what Benefit claims is a "lash-hugging' liner pen, that I got in a set with the mascara. It has an innovative soft tip that, yes, takes a little practice and skill to get close to the lash line and create a perfect line from corner to corner, but it does have a matte black gel formula that stays on. And when I say "stays on", I really mean it! You will need a serious waterproof make up removal to get rid of this liner - luckily, Benefit had that in mind and added the creamy removal gel (find it here) specially formulated to remove the mascara and liner from the "They're real" line.

Breathe and reboot.

Sometimes... "the best we can do is breathe and reboot". And this is my version of it.
Hope you have a nice weekend but, just in case, keep this Carrie Bradshaw's quote in mind.
